All team play 11:30a-12:30pm on the following seven Saturdays:
April 21, 28
May 5, 12, 19
June 2, 9

Each team is to use one half of a u6 size field, playing all game like activities east – west.  You should have “cones” (disks) to set up goals on the east and west sides lines of the u6 field.  Note there will be another Tots team on the other half of the field.  TEAMS ARE NOT TO PLAY EACH OTHER on the entire field north-south as that field is far too large.  Tots size is half the field west-east.

Word from our sponsor....Ralph Reiff of St. Vincent Sports Performance OFFERS SOCCER SAFETY TIPS TO ATHLETES OF ALL AGES
Since girls and women from five to 50, with their families and friends in tow, may be inspired to lace up their cleats and hit the field, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association offers tips to enjoy the sport with safety first. “Soccer is a universal sport with great mental and physical benefits for recreational or elite athletes alike, says athletic trainer Ralph Reiff, ATC, MEd, director, St. Vincent Sports Performance in Indianapolis and former manager of athlete care for the 1996 Olympic Games. “It requires individual and team commitment and regardless of your technical or tactical skills or level can be enjoyed in enclosed or open fields throughout the year.”

“How Active Are Kids’ Sports?”
Today’s USA Today featured two articles on “How Active Are Kids’ Sports?”  Not surprisingly, youth soccer is at the top of the most active sports with 7 to 14 year old boys active 57 minutes and girls 54 minutes at training.  A second study found only 16 minutes of exercise separates fit from unfit kids!  Click here to Read both articles.

Pike Soccer Club Community Rec League (and Indy Burn Plus division) prides itself on keeping rosters small enough to keep your child playing most of the game.  However, key to fitness is for our children to play hard for at least 60 minutes every day.  Play 60 is a program by PSC Sponsor Indianapolis Colts.  Click here for additional information.
